MSP KP was initiated in February 2012, when USAID / Pakistan signed an Activity Agreement with the Planning and Development (P&D) Department of KP. Local Government and Rural Development Department (LG&RDD), on behalf of the GoKP, performed as the Implementing Agency for the program, and a Project Management Unit (PMU) headed by a Project Director was established for the purpose. The program aimed at improvement and expansion of drinking water supply, sanitation including drainage/sewerage and solid waste management infrastructure in the three divisions of KP.
AGES reviewed previous as well as prepared new designs, drawings, cost estimates and tender documents, along with documentation required for revision of existing and preparation of new Project Implementation Letter (PILs). These involved a number of main and secondary drains / sewer lines of varying sizes / lengths, and reassessment of about 121 tube wells.
Concurrently, AGES supervised construction activities; prepared Quality Assurance Plan and performed quality tests of materials for ongoing works at site and in laboratory; performed progress monitoring & reporting thereof; and payment certification, etc.
