The project is located, about 40 Km from Mansehra, near Jabori village on Siran river – a tributary of the Indus river.
Jabori HPP aims to generate 10.2 MW hydropower with an average annual energy of 71 GHz. It consists of construction of a Tyrolean diversion weir and a connecting channel leading the flow to a sand trap where from the sediments free discharge is collected through a channel that ultimately enters into a power tunnel (about 2.98 Km long), with a surge shaft provided at its end. The tunnel is connected with a steel penstock (601 m long & 1.8 m dia) proposed along the downhill slope. A surface powerhouse, containing two Francis units each of 5.1 MW, is constructed at the right side of Siran river, with a tailrace channel provided at its downstream to carry the outflow back into the river. The switchyard is located close to the powerhouse to evacuate the power to national grid located at Battal through 132kv transmission line.
The project also involved roads with a bridge and culverts as access to the powerhouse and weir sites; and a colony with complete infrastructure facilities including different category of residential buildings, offices, park, mosque, internal roads, internal and external electrification, water supply and drainage system, etc.
