Kalat-Quetta-Chaman (KQC) Highway, covering an overall 231 Km of the National Highway (N-25), originates at Kalat city, traverses through the provincial capital Quetta and ends at Chaman, a border town close to Afghanistan. The road serves as a vital route for providing sub regional connectivity and facilitation of cross border trade between Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran and Central Asian Republics.

The project area falls in five districts namely Kalat, Mastung, Quetta, Pishin and Qila Abdullah of the central and northern Baluchistan province. Khojak Pass and Sheila Bagh, with challenging mountainous terrain and wearing snow blankets in winters, are the historically famous points along this route.

The project was implemented by National Highway Authority (NHA); while FWO, supported by M/s EGC, was the Contractor for this engineering, procurement and construct (EPC) mode of contract. USAID financed the construction about 111 kilometers of the road. Scope of work included widening sections of the road, earthwork, grading and paving, as well as construction of bridges, culverts, drains and retaining structures.
